Simple
physical activity, such as walking, conducted at least three hours per week is
to help women to reduce the risk of stroke.
Similarly, according to a new study in the United States. A recent study showed
that young people today are more likely to suffer a stroke than in recent
years. Between 1993 and 2005 alone, cases of stroke in the United States doubled
in people aged less than 50 years.
According
to the Centers Disease Control and Prevention, every 40 seconds one person
increases with stroke and every 4 minutes one person U.S. died of a stroke.
This study involved a total of 13 576 men and 19 416 women aged 29-69 years who
were a part of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition
cohort in Spain.
Participants
completed a questionnaire about the number of hours they spent on physical
activity. The researchers found an inverse association between physical
activity and cardiovascular problems in women but not in men.
Stroke
occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is suddenly interrupted or
when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures causing blood to come out into the
room in the brain that disrupts the brain cells working. Dizziness and sudden
numbness that occurs primarily on one side of the body and loss of balance are
common symptoms of a stroke.
Previous
studies also published in the journal Stroke states that lowering sodium intake
can help in reducing the risk of stroke. Another study found that replacing
high-fat dairy products with low-fat products can also prevent stroke.
